Why organizers switch

Five apps, one tired organizer.

Most reunions run on a group chat for updates, a spreadsheet for RSVPs, a payment app for dues, a form for t-shirt sizes and a notebook for everything else. Nothing talks to anything, so the organizer becomes the glue. A reunion app replaces the glue.

Command center

RSVPs, money collected, days to go and today's three things to do, on one screen.

Budget and payments

Planned, spent and collected side by side. Card payments at RSVP, with Zelle, Cash App and cash recorded in the same list.

Tasks and committees

A starter checklist of about 35 tasks, with owners and due dates, and a space for each committee.

Potluck board

Dishes are claimed, gaps are flagged, and nobody brings the fourth pan of mac and cheese.

Polls

Settle the date, the place or the shirt color with a vote and a deadline.

Schedule and lodging

A multi-day schedule on everyone's phone, and hotel blocks with booking links and cutoff dates.

For the family

What your relatives see.

Each household gets one link. It opens the reunion page, their RSVP, what they owe, the schedule and the hotel. Email reminders go out for the RSVP deadline, balances due, and the day before and the day of, so you don't have to send them yourself.

During the reunion the same link has the day's schedule, reunion games like trivia and scavenger hunts, and a photo wall. Afterward the Family Feed, the Memory Wall and the family tree stay open, so the family keeps talking until the next one.

Getting started

From sign-up to invitations in one sitting.

  1. Sign up with your email

No password and no credit card. You get a link by email that signs you in.

  2. Set up the reunion

Your family name, the branches, the date and place, the price. About nine minutes.

  3. Bring your people in

Paste a list or import a spreadsheet, then share the RSVP link in the group chat.

  4. Hand off the jobs

Assign tasks to your committee and let the reminders do the chasing.

Common questions

What does a family reunion app need to do?

Four jobs: get everyone's RSVP, collect the money, keep the plan in one place (budget, tasks, food, schedule, hotel), and keep the family updated without a 300-message group chat. Grove does all four, and keeps the family connected after the weekend.

Does my family have to download it?

No. Relatives get a personal link that opens in any phone browser, with no account. Organizers use Grove in the browser too, on a phone or a computer, and can add it to their home screen.

How much does it cost?

Planning is free: RSVPs, reminders, budget, tasks, potluck, polls, schedule, the Family Feed and memories. Collecting card payments costs $49 once per reunion (not per month, not per person), or $149 a year for up to five reunions.

Can the planning committee share the work?

Yes. Tasks have owners and due dates, each committee gets its own space and task list, and committees can meet by video in the browser (2 hours a month free per reunion, unlimited once the reunion is activated).

What about the older relatives who don't use apps?

That's who the personal link is for. There's nothing to install and nothing to remember: they tap, say yes, add their household and they're done. You can also record a payment someone hands you in cash.

Is there a sample I can look at first?

Yes. The sample reunion shows the organizer's command center, the family's view and the invite page. No signup needed.
